“The Storm” by Kate Chopin, refers to the storm that Louisiana had had in about two years. It may also refer to the affair that Alcee and Calixta had while her husband and son was out getting food and Alcee’s wife and children were out in Biloxi on vacation. I guess the myth might be true about people have intimacy with one another on rainy days. In this story the storm made Alcee go to Calixta home for shelter, while the rain was pouring down, and in the moments of Calixta thinking about her husband Bobinot and son Bibi was gone all because of sexual feelings from the past. I also saw that they were mutual friends or maybe hometown sweethearts until Calixta got married with kids. But if any of that affair had leaked out into the wrong ears and their companions would be heartbroken. Having affairs with someone is wrong and it’s cheating on your suppose to be loved one. So in reality, the storm could have referred to anything: the rain, the affair between the two getting known by their loved ones, and it could have stood for the fire ignited between the cheaters from the past.

A free write on a topic is a great idea, very useful because I can get whatever’s on my chest out instead of trying to put all my expressions into a sentence. I was lost when you said a free write I was like “What is that”, Then I realized a free write is what you write with basically every mistake in a paper such as grammar, spelling, and punctuations. Then using journalistic questions made my free write clearer and chops my essay to the maximum number of words. Then I had to find a partner to read my story they laughed because I wrote it like I talk (lots of slang) but it helped me because they knew where I was coming from ,and also helped me regenerate more ideas for my essay. So know I know how I can start a paper, just use a free write on a pica because it’s better than brainstorming or making bubbles.
